What Makes The Coffin Crooked

Early in his haunt career, Chase decided to build and sell coffin bookshelves.  After a few libations one evening, the first shelf came out not so symmetrical, and The Crooked Coffin was born.

During his tenure as technical director at an industry leading haunted house, Chase found a passion for prop design.  Now with 20 years of experience in the industry, he has perfected the art of professional prop making and making props that last.

More recently, he's decided to bring his props and costume pieces to the entire haunt industry, instead of being shackled to one haunt.  His ideas and skills are lifting haunts to new levels.  Haunters and patrons alike are yearning for something more, something new; a spark to relight the flame.  Pneumatic and animatronic props for professional haunts.  Easy to use for home haunters as well.  Lifetime costume pieces for career actors.  Icon character pieces.  The possibilities are endless!

After 15 years of friendship, the planets aligned, and a relationship grew.  They are both artists and have individually been selling their crafts for years.  But a partnership blossomed as a result of the relationship.  Being the little witch she is, Sandy was fascinated by what Chase was doing but had never been in the haunt industry herself.  She helped him with his first trade show booth and very quickly got involved in the creative process; starting her own line of products to add to the business.

Together they've begun to grow The Crooked Coffin into something amazing.  Along with their other trade business, Apocalyptiki; which is for their love of Tiki culture, decor, cocktails and carving.  

Neither of them had known this kind of love and support before.  Their energy as a couple inspires and uplifts everyone they meet.  Collaborating on designs and acting as each other's muse, the combination of these two creative forces is unstoppable.  Together there's nothing they can't conquer!

The welded steel rigs that Chase creates are perfect for career haunt actors and icon characters.  The harness helps distribute the weight evenly for a surprisingly comfortable fit.  The steel can also be bent to open or close the chest piece so it can be adjusted to fit different actors.  These rigs are made to last a lifetime, not just a season.  They are made with professional haunts in mind, to be able to switch out actors and reuse this iconic piece year after year.

This also makes for an instant costume, which came in handy for Chase while he was working the haunt.  It can be removed to work behind the scenes, then back on and back to scaring in a matter of seconds.
